Career Opportunity: Critical Care Registered Nurse Float
PositionWe are seeking a skilled Critical Care Registered Nurse to
join our team at Rhode Island Hospital. The ideal candidate will
possess a strong foundation in nursing care and be able to provide
high-quality patient care in a fast-paced
environment.Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, evaluating and implementing
individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each
patient.
- Supervise and participate in the delivery of safe nursing care,
delegating tasks to ancillary personnel as needed.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify
opportunities for improvement, collaborating with the healthcare
team to implement changes.
- Assess and provide appropriate teaching to patients and their
families, promoting health literacy and self-management
skills.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and research
activities, utilizing evidence-based practice to inform care
decisions.
- Utilize available resources to provide quality, cost-effective
patient care, meeting and maintaining clinical competencies as
measured by pre-determined credentialing standards.
- Identify growth needs and participate in educational
opportunities, serving as a role model and preceptor to new
graduate nurses and less experienced personnel.
- Assume charge nurse responsibility for the patient care unit as
delegated, demonstrating leadership and management
skills.Requirements
- Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the
State of Rhode Island.
- 1-year of critical care experience required.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients
throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes,
human development stages, and cultural patterns.Work Environment
and Physical RequirementsVisual and aural ability to monitor
patient status. Physical ability to assist in lifting and
positioning patients. Exposed to patient care environment. Physical
ability for extensive walking and standing, lifting, positioning,
